Garbage and Recycling in Union City:

• A property owner must subscribe for garbage collection for their property, whether it is occupied or not. Empty lots are exempt.
• Basic Refuse/Yard Waste/Recycling fees are included in the owner's annual Property Tax Statement. Waste Management will bill customers directly for additional service.
• Garbage containers should not be on the curb for more than 24 hours and shall be moved from the place of collection before midnight of the day of collection.
• Scavenging for recyclable materials from curbside bins is illegal and could result in fines.
