Youth Violence Prevention Subcommittee

As a result of a tragic increase in youth homicides in Union City, the Youth Violence and Prevention Subcommittee was established in January of 2008. This subcommittee convened a collaborative Work Team with the mission of researching, evaluating and selecting the most effective youth violence prevention and intervention programs for the residents of Union City.

The Work Team is comprised of representatives of the City Council, school board, community and faith-based organizations, police department and community service providers. the HRC continues to facilitate the Youth Violence Work Team and support the implementation of youth and family services in Union City.
