All Fire Construction Applications and Plans shall be submitted directly to the City of Union City’s Building Division located at 34009 Alvarado-Niles Road, Union City, CA 94587.

Submittal Requirements for Fire Construction Projects
Permit Applications:
- Construction Permit Application Form (SHALL BE SUBMITTED WITH EVERY PERMIT TYPE)
- Choose one the following forms that pertains to your project:
Fire Sprinkler/Main Installation Application Form
Fixed Fire System Installation Application Form

Fire Construction Fees are based on the Valuation of the fire construction job. Refer to the current Union City Building/Fire Construction Fee schedule |

At the time of initial submittal a 1-hour Plan Check Fee of $143.00. Additional plan check fees may be charged depending on the project. |

Fire Construction Inspection Fees |

Fire Inspection Fees are currently $120.00 per inspection. |

Installation of High Pile Storage Racks:
The Alameda County Fire Department reviews all permits/plans submitted for High-Pile Storage Racks. Submittal of plans shall be directed to the Union City Building Division. The Building Division will route all application forms and plans to the appropriate departments.
High Piled Storage Annual Fire Permit is required for rack installations, and is issued separately by the Fire Department when storage areas exceed 500 square feet and have commodities stored over 12 feet in height. Special hazardous commodities, such as tires, plastics, and some flammable liquids, are considered high piled storage, even if as low as 6 feet.
